AI models that run on this device.

Two small chat models run in a computer’s browser here; every other model is a file you download.

Open your download

Open a downloaded GGUF in LM Studio, Ollama or llama.cpp. Developer steps for safetensors and ONNX.

Next: open it

<your-file>.gguf

Example only — replace <your-file>.gguf with the filename you downloaded before running.

open it with Hugging Bay for Mac, LM Studio, Ollama or llama.cpp

  1. Hugging Bay for Mac with Apple silicon

On a Mac with Apple silicon, try opening a supported GGUF in Hugging Bay. Whether it runs depends on the model and available memory.

    Get Hugging Bay for Mac
Other apps: LM Studio, Ollama, llama.cpp
  1. LM Studio

Open LM Studio once. Run the import command below in your terminal and follow its prompts. Then open Chat, choose the imported model, wait for it to load and send a message. If lms is not found, see LM Studio's CLI setup instructions.

    lms import ~/Downloads/'<your-file>.gguf'
    LM Studio setup and install
  2. Ollama

Run this in your terminal from the folder holding the file.

    printf '%s\n' 'FROM "./<your-file>.gguf"' > Modelfile && ollama create local-model -f Modelfile && ollama run local-model
    Get Ollama
  3. llama.cpp

Open your terminal and run. It opens a chat in the terminal.

    llama-cli -m ~/Downloads/'<your-file>.gguf'
    Get llama.cpp

If double-clicking doesn't open the file, use one of the apps above.

Check your download · SHA-256
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/'<your-file>.gguf'

Compare with the SHA-256 on the model's file record.

This check proves the file arrived unchanged. Not that the model is safe.

Safetensors

This file is for developers. Load the model folder with transformers.

ONNX

This file is for developers. Load it with onnxruntime.
