Use your other computers

This feature does not sync your library or chats. It pairs computers you trust on the same local network so a model can use memory on more than one machine. Hugging Bay does not run your chat in the cloud.

  1. On each computer, open Settings, Your computers, together, and turn on Use my other computers.
  2. On one computer, choose Add this computer on a nearby machine. Compare the six-digit pairing code on both screens, then choose Codes match on each.
  3. After pairing, pick a checked GGUF from Library and review the setup screen. Start only when each computer shows ready.

Speed and network

The app runs a short link test and may show Mbps between computers. Wired Ethernet is often faster than Wi-Fi. Thunderbolt or USB networking can also be fast when both computers use it. The app may suggest Ethernet when the link looks slow.

Firewall prompts

On macOS, allow Local Network access if asked. On Windows, allow Hugging Bay on private networks. On Linux, allow the app through your firewall for the local network.

What crosses the network

Only paired computers on your LAN take part. Control traffic uses TLS between paired peers. To run a split model, the app may download a model file on a peer, verify its hash, or send model layers over the local link. Your chat text is not sent to Hugging Bay for this feature. Model list and download traffic still use the internet when a peer fetches from Hugging Bay.
